Harvest Happy Hour

Join us for our final Harvest Happy Hour of the season! Thursday, September 26th, 6-7:30p, with special guest Pollinate Minnesota. Enjoy seasonal drinks, free samples from our menu, and learn about the importance of pollinators with Erin Rupp, founder of Pollinate Minnesota.

Minnesota leads the nation in policies to protect pollinators, yet MN beekeepers continue to lose half of their colonies annually and our native bees are also in decline.
We'll hear an update on how our state is protecting bees, why we talk so much about honey bees in talking about pollinator decline, the role of pollinators in our food system, and what you can do to help, from our yards to the Capitol.

Metro Growers Network: Making Farm to Fork Work

Twin Cities gardeners – please join us August 7th, 6:30-8:00pm for the next Twin Cities Metro Growers Network Get Together!  We will tour the cafe garden and discuss how sustainability and local foods are integrated into everything we do at Common Roots.  We’ll also hear from University of Minnesota extension professionals about productivity in small garden spaces and safe handling of garden produce.

A networking group of the Sustainable Farming Association, the Twin Cities Growers Network aims to connect anyone who grows produce seriously and seeks education, networking and fellowship. Whether you grow for market, personal or community use, or to rediscover indigenous and ethnic roots, if you want to network with like-minded people in the metro, this group is for you.
